Dear colleagues, The 4th Croatian Congress on Hypertension and Symposium of Medical Technicians for Hypertension is to be held on the 30th of March till the 2nd of April in Poreč, one of our key stones of history and culture. In addition to the fact we wanted to organize a meeting in this part of Croatia where we have not yet been, we have selected this town because of the link between its basilica and the Mosaic and our profession. The Mosaic is associated with complexity, structurality, with a multitude forming unity and harmony. It consists of smaller pieces which jointly and equally contribute to the beauty of the whole. I believe that this link is familiar to those who deal with hypertension, today’s leading killer of mankind. At this congress, as on other meetings organized by the Croatian Society of Hypertension, the problem of hypertension will be approached from different points of view, new developments will be displayed in a comprehensive manner, and controversies will be discussed. We will try to be practical and pragmatic, so you can apply this knowledge as soon as possible in your daily practice. In one part of the meeting, we will present the activities of our Society that you may join if you are so inclined. We will exhibit two novelties – an original mobile application for hypertension developed by our Society and Ericsson, followed by the new Croatian Practice Guidelines for Management of Hypertension. The abstracts published herein display the variety of subjects and professions dealing with hypertension from their individual perspectives, which provides additional support for our efforts. I hope you will agree with me that the quality of abstracts is at a high level. In the congress schedule, poster presentations and oral presentations were placed in the central prime time slots to emphasize the importance of active participation in dealing with hypertension.
